Zempus 3491 is a 2D/3D shoot em up. It is influenced by games such as 1943, R type and Star Fox. The action switched between 3 different views. These are a top down view, a side view and a frontal view. The prototype was intended to have cut scenes and narrative between each Act to make the player feel like that they’re a space pilot in an action movie. Act 1 involves the player moving towards the giant snake. The second act has the player inside the snake. The 3rd act has the player escaping the dying snake as the snake

Act 1
Act 1 is a top down view. The way this part of the level is designed is to have large empty game object which we can call “Act 1”. This game object would have a large group of empty game objects as children. This large group of empty game objects are called spawners. The level gameobject is constantly moving once the level game object is activated. When the spawner gameobject reaches a point before the player can view it, an object is spawned. The spawner gameobjects can spawn an obstacle or an enemy.

Act 2
Act 2 is a frontal view. Act 2 has 3 parts to it. The first and third parts of the Act 2 is designed in a similar war to Act 1. A 25 row by 25 column set of equidistant spawn points are used and moving spawn points determines when the objects spawn. The middle part of Act 2 however is procedural generated. A script is used to select a random spawn point and spawns random game object such as a mine or wall.

Act 3 is a side view and is procedurally generated. Where spawn points are in the same place and a timer script determines when a game object is spawned and what direction the gameobject goes. The gameobjects in this area consists of debris.
